Lloydminster Interval Home Society Not-For-Profit

All proceeds from the sales will go back towards supporting the Lloydminster Interval Home Society and their programs. With annual Lloydminster Interval Home Society Membership, you will be eligible to vote on Annual General Meeting agenda issues, will receive our annual newsletter, and assist us in our case. In the past, the SPCA has partnered with the Interval Home during Family Violence Prevention Month, as well as their Pet Safekeeping Program. The Pet Safekeeping Program is what initially started the partnership between both organizations. Punshon says most times people in dangerous situations won’t leave their homes because of their pets.

LIHS is proud to offer an inclusive workplace for individuals like you who will become ambassadors of our mission, vision, and values. With opening day a week away, Mullaly says there’s been plenty of excitement as they finish setting up the store. The store will be open until early-January and will gift wrapping available on site.

Donation Reminder – PLEASE DONATE DON’T DUMP!

All proceeds from the sale of those donations fund programs for women, children and youth in our community. The Lloydminster Interval Home Society is a registered non-profit organization in the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Government of Alberta, Children & Youth Services provides about 60% of our operating budget and the remaining 40% is raised by our own fundraising efforts and individual donations. During the holiday season, the Lloydminster Interval Home Society also accepts toys, personal care items, and gifts for women, teens and children in their programs. The organization is also taking in volunteers to help with both shops this holiday season.

We are so grateful to receive hundreds of bags of donations each week at ‘For The Interval’ Store! Unfortunately, 30% of the donations we receive are unusable (stained, torn, missing pieces, dirty, broken, etc.) Please double check your donations to ensure they are ready to be used by someone else. If they are not, we kindly ask you to redirect that item to a recycling facility or garbage dump.

Vision Statement

The Lloydminster Interval Home Society exists to provide safety, support, and education by empowering the children, youth, adults, and communities we serve. The Lloydminster Interval Home provides safe, temporary shelter & support to women & children fleeing family violence and other life crisis. We also have a Second Stage Housing Facility, Youth Centre, and social enterprise – ‘For The Interval’ Store. We offer many programs such as Family Violence Outreach Services, Public Education, and a variety of Community Programming. The 'For The Interval' Store is a second hand store owned and operated by the Lloydminster Interval Home Society.

‘For The Interval’ Store and the Lloydminster and District SPCA are teaming up in order to provide more donations for animals in need.

We know that items are donated to us with the very best of intentions but receiving unusable items hurts us more than it helps us as these items stretch our resources. Whether you’re a DIYer, an avid reader, fashion lover, upcycled treasure collector or just love a good deal, we have something for you! All proceeds support the programs and services offered by the Lloydminster Interval Home Society. On behalf of the SPCA the Interval store will be accepting donations in a dedicated bin located at the back of the building with an SPCA logo marked on it. Executive Director for the SPCA Jon Punshon says people can drop off pet supplies such as food, beds and blankets.

Residents looking to donate items can do so by dropping them off at the back door of the ‘For The Interval’ Store. The idea of a “home for women in crisis” in Lloydminster was spawned between Dolores Cummine and Marge Nattress and other concerned community members in 1979. In the spring of 1980, the Minister of Saskatchewan Social Services and his aides traveled to Lloydminster to meet with the board. With great disappointment, it was learned that showing a need in the community was not enough to receive government funding.
